The eOcean.org is supported by the Ministry of Education, China, and operated by the State Key Laboratory of Marine Geology, Tongji University and the State Key Laboratory for Mineral Deposits Research, Nanjing University for the benefit of the scientific community. The operating institutes encourage the widest possible use of eOcean.org as a data library, in order to best realize its potential value.
How to submit data
eOcean.org is an archive for any kind of data from earth system research with a focus on primary data (the system may not held model, interpolated or gridded data) especially in west pacific. Due to the variety of geoscientific fields and parameters, data can be provided in Text or Excel and other normal format but should always be accompanied by the following metadata:

Author(s); one author name (principle investigator) is mandatory

Data set title (equivalent to the title of a publication).

Source (e.g. name of institute).
-
Reference(s) if data are related to a publication.

In case data are made citable through a data publication, a description of the data must be added.

Documentation of data, methods, quality control etc.
Work flow during data archiving & publication
(make data available latest when the publication is accepted)
Author is responsible for
-
scientific quality of the data,
-
preparation of import format including complete metadata,
-
submission of data to the curator/editor of the project or institute,
-
proof read,
-
data set DOI may be used in publication as a reference/link to the primary data.
Curator is responsible for
-
checking completness of metadata and data consistency,
-
technical quality control,
-
import and check with Pangavista,
-
password protection (if applicable),
-
submit DOI to PI for proof read of data sets,
-
make corrections, iteration between curator and author until OK
-
final publication. |
